The Port of Helsinki reported stable traffic volumes for the year 2025, maintaining consistent cargo and passenger flows despite broader fluctuations in the regional shipping market.

According to the port authority, total cargo throughput remained largely unchanged from 2024 levels, supported by sustained container volumes, liquid bulk shipments, and conventional general cargo. Passenger traffic, particularly in ferry services to Sweden and the Baltic region, also showed steady performance.

Port officials attributed the stability to ongoing investments in infrastructure, efficient terminal operations, and strong partnerships with shipping lines. The port continues to focus on enhancing logistics efficiency, digitalisation, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring reliability for both trade and passenger transport.

The port’s performance in 2025 underscores Helsinki’s role as a key gateway in the Baltic Sea region, capable of handling steady trade volumes while preparing for future growth and increased environmental compliance standards.
