In a significant step towards strengthening rail-led export logistics, Shiv Shakti Inter Globe Exports Pvt. Ltd. has flagged off its dedicated export block train from DP World ICD Panipat to APM Terminals Pipavav, in partnership with Maersk and APM Terminals.

The dedicated service marks a strategic shift in the way India’s agri-exports, particularly Basmati rice, are transported to global markets. By leveraging rail-led logistics, the company aims to reduce transit uncertainties, improve cargo velocity, and enhance supply chain reliability.

Industry stakeholders note that block train movements are increasingly becoming central to India’s export infrastructure strategy, offering scalability, cost efficiencies, and environmental benefits. Compared to conventional road-based transport, rail solutions contribute to lower carbon emissions and improved operational predictability.

The collaboration between DP World ICD Panipat, Maersk, and APM Terminals Pipavav underscores the growing alignment between exporters and integrated logistics providers to create seamless end-to-end supply chains. The dedicated train service strengthens connectivity between India’s agricultural hinterland and key maritime gateways, facilitating smoother global distribution.

Company representatives stated that the milestone goes beyond a single cargo movement and reflects a broader commitment to building globally competitive and future-ready supply chains. As India’s agri-export sector continues to expand, such integrated rail-port solutions are expected to play a pivotal role in positioning the country as a reliable sourcing hub for international markets.

With this initiative, Shiv Shakti reinforces its vision of not only exporting premium Basmati rice but also investing in logistics models that enhance India’s export competitiveness.
