    Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, visited Tirupur and held a key interaction with stakeholders from the textile and apparel industry, marking a significant engagement with one of India’s leading export hubs.

    The meeting was organised under the leadership of Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and Honorary Chairman of the Tiruppur Exporters Association (TEA). K. M. Subramanian, President of TEA, along with office bearers, participated in the interaction and represented the concerns and aspirations of the Tirupur export community.

    The engagement was described as highly positive and productive, with the Minister providing a comprehensive overview of the current global and domestic trade environment. He outlined the government’s strategic vision for the textile sector, emphasizing the need to enhance competitiveness, scale up production, and strengthen India’s position in global markets.

    During the interaction, Goyal highlighted key initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Government of India to boost textile exports. These include policy support measures, efforts to diversify export markets, and initiatives aimed at improving ease of doing business for exporters. He also stressed the importance of increasing foreign exchange earnings through sustained export growth.

    Industry representatives appreciated the Minister’s insights and expressed confidence in the government’s proactive approach toward addressing sectoral challenges. The visit was seen as a proud and meaningful occasion for Tirupur’s textile stakeholders, reinforcing the region’s critical role in India’s export ecosystem.
