Etihad Airways has launched a new daily nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, marking the airline’s first route to Uzbekistan and strengthening connectivity between Central Asia and the UAE. The inaugural service began on 9 August 2026, operated by an Airbus A320.
The new route connects Tashkent with Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub, giving passengers and cargo customers access to the carrier’s wider global network across the GCC, Europe, the Levant and North America. The service also provides an additional air bridge between Uzbekistan and international markets.
Daily Abu Dhabi–Tashkent flights
Etihad is operating the route daily under flight numbers EY830 and EY831. The service is initially operated with Airbus A320 aircraft.
The airline has also adjusted its schedule from September 1, with EY830 departing Abu Dhabi at 21:20 and arriving in Tashkent at 01:50 the following day. The return EY831 leaves Tashkent at 03:35 and reaches Abu Dhabi at 06:25.
Cargo connectivity gains
The new connection also expands Etihad Cargo’s access to Central Asian markets, particularly for high-value and time-sensitive shipments. Through Abu Dhabi, cargo originating in Uzbekistan can connect with Etihad’s wider network and international trade lanes.
The route provides another option for businesses moving goods between Uzbekistan, the UAE and overseas markets, potentially supporting trade flows as commercial ties between Central Asia and the Gulf continue to develop.
Codeshare expands Uzbekistan reach
Etihad’s Tashkent launch is supported by its codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways. Under the agreement, Etihad customers can travel beyond Tashkent to eight destinations in Uzbekistan, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, Namangan, Andizhan, Urgench, Nukus and Termez on a single ticket.
The partnership gives Etihad a broader footprint across Uzbekistan without requiring the airline to operate separate services to each destination.
Strengthening Abu Dhabi as a gateway
Etihad said the new service reflects the growing economic and tourism importance of Uzbekistan and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a gateway between Central Asia and global markets.
With daily flights, onward connectivity through the Etihad network and the Uzbekistan Airways codeshare, the new Tashkent service is expected to support passenger travel, trade and air cargo flows between Central Asia and international destinations.
