Hapag-Lloyd has announced temporary omissions of three Italian ports on its MCA service as part of measures to restore schedule reliability. The carrier’s Barcelona Express voyage 85W33 will skip scheduled calls at Salerno, Livorno and Genoa.
Three port calls cancelled
The affected calls are:
- Salerno: August 11, 2026
- Livorno: August 14, 2026
- Genoa: August 15, 2026
Hapag-Lloyd said the omissions are intended to help the MCA service recover its schedule following operational disruptions.
Export cargo to be shifted
Cargo booked for export from the affected ports will be transferred to the first available vessels. Hapag-Lloyd will issue revised booking confirmations to customers showing the replacement vessel and updated loading details.
Customers with affected shipments have also been advised to update their shipping documentation to reflect the revised vessel arrangements.
Focus on schedule recovery
The temporary omissions are part of Hapag-Lloyd’s efforts to improve schedule reliability and minimise the impact of delays across the MCA network.
While the changes may affect cargo planning for shippers using the three Italian gateways, moving shipments onto alternative vessels is expected to help maintain cargo flows while the service works to recover its schedule.
The adjustments highlight the continuing need for carriers to make short-term network changes to manage schedule disruptions and maintain more predictable vessel operations.
