V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) has recorded an impressive 277.04% growth in the handling of Iron and Steel Materials cargo during the period April–July of FY 2026–27, compared with the corresponding period of FY 2025–26.

The substantial increase highlights the Port’s growing role in facilitating industrial cargo movement and supporting the region’s trade and manufacturing ecosystem.

The strong performance reflects VOCPA’s continued focus on efficient cargo handling, improved operational performance and enhanced trade facilitation. The growth also underscores the Port’s efforts to strengthen its cargo-handling capabilities and provide more efficient services to the EXIM community.

The significant rise in Iron and Steel Materials cargo marks another positive milestone for V.O. Chidambaranar Port as it continues to build a more efficient, competitive and future-ready maritime gateway for India’s southern region.

With sustained focus on infrastructure, operational efficiency and customer-centric services, the Port is positioning itself to support increasing cargo volumes and contribute further to India’s trade growth.
