Hutchison Ports Sohar welcomed M/V KMTC LONG BEACH on her maiden voyage, marking the port’s distinction as the vessel’s first port of call in the Middle East.
With a capacity of approximately 9,000 TEU, the state-of-the-art container vessel represents the largest vessel class commissioned by Korea Marine Transport Co., Ltd. (KMTC), reflecting the shipping line’s growing capabilities in container transportation.
The vessel’s call at Sohar reinforces the port’s strategic role in facilitating maritime trade between Oman, India and China. The service strengthens shipping connectivity across key Asian markets, supporting regional trade flows and providing enhanced links for containerised cargo.
The maiden call also highlights Sohar’s importance as a regional maritime gateway, connecting international shipping networks with major trade and logistics markets.
