Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has achieved a major operational milestone at Mundra Port by successfully handling India’s largest-ever single vessel parcel of Degummed Soybean Oil (DSBO).

The vessel MT BANGUS discharged 66,800 metric tonnes (MT) of DSBO at Mundra Port, setting a new national record for the largest single parcel of edible oil handled by a vessel at an Indian port.

The vessel arrived from San Lorenzo, Argentina, a key global export hub for agricultural commodities. Measuring 229 metres in length with a displacement of 88,830 MT, the operation required detailed planning, seamless coordination among multiple teams, and efficient utilisation of the port’s infrastructure.

Adani Ports said the successful handling of the cargo highlights Mundra Port’s capability to manage high-volume liquid bulk cargo through its deep-draft facilities, modern infrastructure, and integrated cargo-handling systems. The operation was executed with a strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to established standards.

The milestone was achieved through the coordinated efforts of the port’s marine, operations, safety, engineering, and support teams, along with the vessel’s crew and other stakeholders involved in the operation.

The achievement further reinforces Mundra Port’s position as one of India’s leading gateways for international trade and demonstrates its readiness to handle increasingly larger and more complex liquid bulk cargoes, supporting the country’s growing logistics and supply chain requirements.
