    Shri Sameer Kumar Khare, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of the National Shipping Board, visited Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) to review the port’s infrastructure, operational capabilities, and ongoing development initiatives.

    During the visit, the Chairman toured the Container Terminal, General Cargo Berths (GCBs), and the Signal Station, where he was briefed on KPL’s modern infrastructure, cargo handling capabilities, and expansion plans. The visit provided an overview of the port’s role in supporting India’s growing maritime trade and logistics sector.

    Shri Khare also undertook a tug ride to gain firsthand insight into the port’s marine operations, highlighting KPL’s emphasis on safety, operational efficiency, and the adoption of modern practices in port management.

    Kamarajar Port Limited said the visit reaffirmed its commitment to developing sustainable, efficient, and future-ready port infrastructure in line with the Government of India’s vision of strengthening the country’s maritime sector and promoting port-led economic growth.
