DHL has unveiled its first Mammoth-converted Boeing 777-200 freighter, marking a major milestone in its fleet modernisation strategy. The global logistics company has also confirmed an order for 13 converted 777-200 freighters, underscoring its commitment to expanding long-haul air cargo capacity amid growing global demand.

The Boeing 777-200 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion, developed by Mammoth Freighters, is designed to provide a cost-effective solution for increasing cargo capacity while extending the operational life of existing aircraft. The converted freighters offer significant payload capability and long-range performance, making them well suited for international express and e-commerce shipments.

The addition of the 777-200 converted freighters is expected to strengthen DHL’s intercontinental network by enhancing operational flexibility, improving fuel efficiency and supporting reliable cargo services across key global trade lanes. The aircraft will complement the company’s existing freighter fleet and help meet rising demand for time-sensitive logistics services.

DHL said the fleet expansion aligns with its long-term strategy to invest in modern, efficient aircraft while supporting sustainable growth in the air cargo sector. The new freighters are expected to improve network resilience and enable the company to better serve customers across international markets.

Industry observers view the order as a strong endorsement of the Boeing 777-200 passenger-to-freighter programme and a reflection of continued confidence in the long-term growth of the global air freight market, driven by e-commerce, express logistics and resilient cross-border trade.
