Gandhar Refinery has signed a non-binding MoU with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to develop a terminal at Vadhvan Port in Maharashtra. The project will enhance India’s maritime infrastructure and improve port capacity on the western coast, supporting regional industrial growth.
The new terminal will handle containers, bulk cargo, and liquid cargo, alongside supporting infrastructure. The proposed development, with an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crore, is crucial for boosting operational efficiency and increasing port capacity. This move reflects Gandhar Refinery’s commitment to expanding its logistical and infrastructural capabilities.
The project is part of India’s broader effort to modernise ports and improve connectivity through the Sagarmala initiative. The terminal, expected to be operational by 2030, will play a key role in meeting rising cargo demands. It aligns with national goals of enhancing port efficiency and supporting industrial growth across the region.
The partnership also signals growing private sector interest in contributing to India’s port infrastructure development.
