Gulfood 2026 has announced the launch of Gulfood Logistics, a new dedicated platform focused on logistics, transportation and supply-chain innovation, to be held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City Dubai this January.

The move comes as the global logistics and transportation market is projected to expand from $9.4 trillion in 2024 to $23.0 trillion by 2035, underscoring the sector’s growing strategic importance to global trade and food security. With an estimated 70–90% of global trade value transported by sea, logistics efficiency is increasingly seen as a key driver of economic growth, supply reliability and consumer access.

Gulfood Logistics will place a strong emphasis on logistics networks, cold-chain systems and freight innovation that underpin the world’s food supply, highlighting the cross-border cooperation required to keep food moving safely and sustainably. The platform will showcase technologies, infrastructure and partnerships that enable perishables to travel fresh and uncompromised across continents, linking suppliers, processors, retailers and consumers.

Anchored in Dubai’s role as a global trade gateway between Europe, Asia and Africa, the initiative reinforces the UAE’s position as the Middle East’s largest logistics hub, accounting for around 30% of GCC logistics activity and contributing approximately 8% of national GDP.

Mohammed Hamdan, UAE area head of sales at Maersk, said the company is proud to exhibit at Gulfood 2026 for the first time. “We will engage with partners across IMEA and Europe to strengthen supply chains from farm to fork, showcasing resilient and adaptive networks, cold-chain expertise and integrated supply-chain solutions designed for today’s complex environment,” he said.

The exhibition will bring together logistics leaders, cold-chain specialists and global freight operators alongside food producers, importers, exporters and distributors. Visitors can expect solutions spanning temperature-controlled transport, smart warehousing, real-time cargo tracking and cross-border freight optimisation.

Major industry players including Akkon Lines, Africa Global Logistics, DP World, Dubai South, Kezad Group, Maersk, Mohebi Logistics, MSC Shipping, Silo Group and Ship Smart will be featured on the show floor.

Gulfood Logistics will also host a comprehensive thought-leadership programme addressing critical trends such as cold-chain optimisation, last-mile delivery, regulatory compliance, sustainability and digital transformation, equipping delegates with insights to build resilience, reduce waste and capture growth opportunities in an increasingly interconnected global food economy.
