Hapag-Lloyd and Ocean Network Express (ONE) have added a Cape Town port call to their jointly operated MIAX/AIM service, strengthening connectivity on the trade lane and expanding coverage in southern Africa.

The new call is aimed at improving service offerings for customers by enhancing access to South African markets and providing additional options for cargo moving between Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The inclusion of Cape Town is expected to support both import and export flows, including agricultural produce, refrigerated cargo and project shipments.

The MIAX/AIM service connects key ports across Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East with Africa, and the added Cape Town call will also help improve schedule flexibility and network resilience.

Hapag-Lloyd and ONE continue to adjust their service networks to better align with evolving trade patterns and customer demand across emerging and established markets.
