Ongoing tensions in West Asia are causing significant disruptions to India’s fruit export supply chains, with shipments reportedly stranded at major ports and airports. Exporters are facing delays due to logistical bottlenecks, increased freight rates, and heightened security concerns in Gulf markets, which account for a large share of Indian fruit exports.

Industry sources said perishable consignments, including mangoes, grapes, and pomegranates, are particularly affected, raising concerns about losses and spoilage. Trade bodies have urged the government to facilitate alternative shipping routes and provide support to exporters to minimize the impact of the crisis.

Analysts warn that if the conflict persists, India’s fruit export revenue could see a noticeable dip, stressing the need for urgent mitigation measures.
