The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has launched a series of infrastructure improvements to the PATH rail system, aimed at enhancing connectivity, reliability, and commuter experience across the bi-state network.

The upgrades will focus on modernising tracks, signalling systems, and station facilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce delays. The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen transportation links between New York and New Jersey, supporting both passenger mobility and regional economic activity.

Officials said the improvements will also help increase capacity and resilience of the PATH system, which serves as a critical transit link for thousands of daily commuters. Enhanced infrastructure is expected to streamline services and ensure more consistent travel times.

The move aligns with long-term plans by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to invest in sustainable and future-ready transport solutions, while addressing growing demand and aging infrastructure across its network.
