Synergy Marine Group has secured a contract to manage a series of LNG-powered newbuild vessels for Taiwanese container shipping line Yang Ming Marine Transport, marking a significant expansion of its gas-fuelled fleet management portfolio.

Under the agreement, Synergy Marine will provide full technical management services for the upcoming LNG dual-fuel vessels, including crew management, maintenance, safety compliance, and performance optimisation. The vessels are part of Yang Ming’s broader strategy to modernise its fleet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with tightening global environmental regulations.

The LNG-powered newbuilds are expected to deliver improved fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions compared to conventional fuel oil-powered ships. By incorporating LNG propulsion, Yang Ming aims to meet IMO decarbonisation targets while enhancing operational sustainability across major trade routes.

Synergy Marine, which has been steadily growing its footprint in alternative-fuel vessel management, said the contract reflects its technical expertise in handling complex LNG systems and advanced ship technologies.

The partnership underscores continued industry momentum toward cleaner shipping solutions, as leading carriers accelerate investments in next-generation, environmentally compliant fleets.
