Ride-hailing giant Uber India has entered the business-to-business (B2B) logistics space with the launch of Uber Direct, introduced through a strategic partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Uber Direct will enable merchants on the ONDC network to tap into Uber’s extensive delivery infrastructure. The service has gone live with grocery deliveries for clients including Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh, and the company plans to expand into restaurant deliveries, e-commerce logistics, and other categories across more cities in the coming months.
The initiative marks Uber’s deepening push beyond its core ride-hailing operations into enterprise logistics. Uber India & South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh said the offering is designed as a “plug-and-play solution”, allowing businesses to leverage Uber’s delivery capabilities without investing in their own fleet.
Uber already runs popular courier services—Uber Courier and Uber Courier X—which the company says have gained strong traction among small businesses and individual users nationwide.
Beyond logistics, the partnership with ONDC is also enabling new features on the Uber app, including metro ticket booking, reinforcing Uber’s broader transition from a mobility platform to an integrated digital commerce enabler.
