    Andhra Pradesh Minister for Housing and I&PR K Parthasarathi has announced that the
    Ramayapatnam Seaport in Nellore district is being developed for Rs 3,760 crore and the
    Machilipatnam Port works will be completed by December 2025.

    In a statement here on Tuesday, the Housing Minister said that the first phase of Machilipatnam seaport in Krishna district is being carried out for Rs 5,155 crore and the works would be completed by December 2025 and the Moolapet seaport in Srikakulam district is being constructed for Rs 4,362 crore.

    Under the Sagaramala project, the development works are being carried out in Kakinada Anchorage Port by spending Rs 91 crore for which the Centre allocated Rs 43 crore under the Sagarmala scheme and Rs 43 crore from the APMB., the Minister asserted.

    “The AP government aimed to construct four fishing harbors for Rs 1,523 crore in the first phase and six fishing harbours in the second phase for Rs 1,595 crore. AP has sent proposals to the Union Ports and Shipping Minister S Sonowal for constructing 29 new projects in AP for Rs 3,300 crore,” Parthasarathy revealed.

    The Minister noted that the Visakhapatnam Port Authority and Inland Waterway Authority of India jointly are developing 36 new projects in AP for Rs 4,600 crore, including passenger jetties, fishing harbors, and modernization of ports.

    Minister Parthasarathi acknowledged that Union Minister for Ports and Shipping Sonovar had announced that the Machilipatnam Port construction works would be completed by December 2025. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is personally monitoring the construction works of Machilipatnam port, he highlighted.
