The budget lays out an ambitious road map for industrial and logistics growth with its focus on infrastructure. Logistics costs will drop, and domestic manufacturing will get a major boost as supply chains will run smoother, real estate experts said.

The budget will boost the PM Gati Shakti national multi-modal connectivity plan with better digital infrastructure including geospatial land records, improved air cargo facilities and other upgrades like Bharat Trade Net platform to streamline trade documents, they said.

“Manufacturing and logistics impetus will have the maximum impact on industrial and warehouse leasing activity across tier I and II cities of the country,” said Badal Yagnik, chief executive officer of real estate consultancy Colliers India.

“As a tangible near-term impact, we can potentially witness traction in Grade A leasing activity, and demand for industrial sheds and warehouses can reach 30-40 million square feet across the major markets of the country,” he said.

At the heart of this transformation is PM Gati Shakti’s digital infrastructure. Data mapping will attract investment, encourage private sector participation, and enhance efficiency, experts said.
