Two consignments of 26,250 metric tonnes of Pakistani rice and 11,000 metric tonnes of Indian rice arrived at Chittagong Port on Wednesday.

The Pakistani vessel named ‘MV SIBI’ with 26,250 metric tonnes of rice under the Government-to-Government (G2G) deal and the Indian vessel named ‘MV HT UNITE’ anchored at Chittagong Port in the morning, said Imdad Islam, Public Relations Officer of the Food Ministry.

Necessary measures have been taken to ensure that the unloading activities will begin today after testing the samples of rice stored on the two ships.
