In a major move to enhance India’s global trade presence, the Maharashtra Postal Circle (India Post) and World Trade Center (WTC) Mumbai signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership focuses on improving trade facilitation, seamless logistics, and business connectivity, especially for small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The MoU was formalised in the presence of Dr Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of MVIRDC WTC Mumbai and President of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), and Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General, Navi Mumbai Region.
This collaboration brings together India Post’s unmatched delivery network and WTC Mumbai’s international reach. The goal is to make cross border trade smoother and help Indian businesses become more competitive in global markets.
Dr Kalantri expressed confidence in the initiative, stating, “WTC Mumbai will help spread awareness about India Post’s critical role in logistics and trade. We will organise joint programs to support the business community”.
Dr Sudhir Jakhere, Assistant Postmaster General (Mails & BD), highlighted India Post’s upcoming projects such as the International Business Centre in Mumbai, the National Logistics Organization, and the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra, all designed to streamline exports and logistics.
With services in over 70 countries and strong rural connectivity, India Post is positioning itself as a major driver of inclusive and export led growth.
This MoU marks a step forward in aligning postal services with India’s global trade ambitions.
