The indefinite strike launched by various transport associations against the poor condition of Kutch roads has officially come to an end today, following a decisive meeting between district authorities, highway officials, and trade representatives.

As per the resolution, four toll plazas on the national highway in Kutch will remain toll-free until midnight (15 September 2025). No charges will be collected from any vehicle during this period.

Additionally, authorities have committed to a two-phase road repair plan:

    • Within 3 days: Filling of existing potholes.

    • Within 11 days: Resurfacing of large potholes and critical stretches, wherever necessary.

The decision was finalized in a meeting held this morning with the participation of District Collector Shri Anand Patel, Superintendent of Police Shri Sagar Bagmar, and National Highways Gujarat Head Shri Yadav. Earlier discussions, which extended past midnight yesterday, led to final approval from Delhi before today’s announcement.

Speaking on the development, Ratnal Truck Owners Association President Shri Rajesh Chhanga said, “This agreement is the outcome of constructive dialogue. Toll plazas will remain free till Monday midnight, and road repair work will be executed within the committed timelines. In view of this assurance, we have withdrawn the strike.”

Echoing the sentiment, Kandla Dumper Association President Shri Shivabhai Ahir confirmed: “Following this collective decision, transport services across Kutch have resumed.”

The meeting and resolution also saw the active participation of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce President Shri Mahesh Puj, Chamber Minister Shri Mahesh Tirthani, Tanker Association President Shri Samji Ahir, and Container Association Minister Shri Bhagirath Singh, who unanimously endorsed the settlement.

With the strike withdrawn, transportation activities in Kutch have resumed, ensuring smooth movement of goods and vehicles across the region.
