Drydocks World, a DP World company, and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) have signed an Agreement of Heads of Terms to evaluate and develop India’s first ship repair cluster at the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) in Cochin, Kerala.

The agreement was exchanged in the presence of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, between Captain Rado Anotolovic, PhD, CEO, Drydocks World, and Madhu S Nair, Chairman and Managing Director, CSL, during India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai.

Located along major international shipping routes, the ISRF features a state-of-the-art ship lift system and modern docking facilities capable of servicing a wide range of vessels. The collaboration will explore potential cooperation models within the ship repair cluster ecosystem, fostering growth in India’s maritime services sector.

Captain Rado Anotolovic said the partnership reaffirms DP World’s commitment to enhancing India’s maritime infrastructure through efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Madhu S Nair noted that the alliance brings together complementary strengths to position Cochin as a global centre of excellence for ship repair and maintenance.

The initiative aligns with the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, advancing Cochin’s role as a key hub for next-generation ship repair infrastructure and strengthening India’s position in the global maritime landscape.
