Maersk has announced a revision to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for cargo services between the Far East and the Middle East, part of its ongoing effort to balance supply and demand during the busy shipping period.

Under the updated structure, new surcharge levels will apply to shipments originating in key Asian export hubs such as China, Vietnam and Singapore, with destinations including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. These revised peak season fees are scheduled to take effect from 25 February 2026 and will remain in place until further notice, helping to maintain service reliability across these important trade corridors.

Maersk says the surcharge adjustments reflect seasonal volume fluctuations and broader market conditions, aiming to ensure capacity and service levels meet customer requirements while managing peak demand pressures on the Far East–Middle East route network
