IRCLASS Academy, the training arm of the Indian Register of Shipping, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AMET University to enhance collaboration in maritime education, research, and industry integration.

The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for joint initiatives in curriculum development, research and development, internships, and the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, and guest lectures. The partnership is designed to strengthen the alignment between academic programmes and the evolving needs of the maritime industry.

Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on project-based learning, joint supervision of dissertations, and the sharing of academic and technical resources. A major focus of the partnership is to facilitate structured industry exposure and internships, enabling students to gain practical experience and professional insights in real-world maritime operations.

The collaboration also envisages the conduct of joint conferences, seminars, and workshops, creating a platform for knowledge exchange between academia and industry practitioners, and fostering innovation and research-led growth in the maritime sector.

Speaking on the occasion, a representative of IRCLASS Academy said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. “By working closely with AMET University, we aim to equip students with practical insights, technical competence, and industry exposure that will prepare them for the future of maritime operations,” the representative noted.

The MoU marks a significant step toward building a future-ready maritime workforce through stronger academic-industry collaboration.
