    Hambantota International Port has achieved a new operational milestone by handling 13,260 TEUs from a single vessel, setting a fresh record for container moves at the Sri Lankan gateway. The achievement highlights the port’s growing capabilities and rising role in regional transshipment and mainline shipping networks.

    Port officials said the record operation demonstrated strong terminal productivity, coordinated yard planning and efficient crane performance. Successfully managing such a high-volume exchange from one vessel reflects improving infrastructure readiness and operational maturity at the port.
