Port of Aarhus has set a new container handling record, processing 843,665 TEUs, marking its highest-ever annual throughput and underscoring strong trade activity at Denmark’s largest container port.

The milestone reflects steady growth in container volumes driven by robust import-export demand, improved terminal efficiency, and strengthened connectivity with key European and global shipping routes. The port continues to play a central role in facilitating Denmark’s maritime trade.

Port authorities attributed the record performance to operational improvements, investments in infrastructure, and closer collaboration with shipping lines and logistics partners. Enhanced digital systems and optimized cargo handling processes also contributed to higher productivity.

Industry observers say the achievement highlights the resilience of Northern European ports amid global supply chain adjustments. The Port of Aarhus is expected to further expand capacity and strengthen its position as a key logistics hub in the Baltic and North Sea region.
