Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the ambitious Indore–Pithampur Economic Corridor, a major infrastructure project aimed at transforming Indore into a key industrial and logistics hub.
The corridor, with an estimated cost of ₹2,365 crore, is strategically designed to integrate with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, national highways, and other transport networks, enhancing connectivity and boosting industrial production in the region.
Speaking at the foundation ceremony in Nainod village, Yadav highlighted the project as a cornerstone of the state’s economic growth strategy. He noted that the government is actively working to attract investments worth ₹1 lakh crore through the corridor and related infrastructure initiatives.
As part of a broader development push, the state plans to establish 48 new industrial parks and develop six expressways. According to the Chief Minister, projects exceeding ₹9 lakh crore have already been implemented under the current administration, reflecting a strong pipeline of industrial expansion.
The first phase of the corridor includes the construction of a 20-km road and is expected to generate employment for around six lakh people. Spread across approximately 1,316 hectares, the project will follow a controlled development model, integrating industrial, commercial, and residential zones to create a comprehensive economic ecosystem.
The Indore–Pithampur corridor is expected to significantly strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position as a major manufacturing and investment destination in India.
