Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth over ₹12,470 crore in Haryana, aimed at enhancing connectivity, reducing travel time, strengthening logistics, and accelerating economic growth.

Among the key projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the 24.27-km Hansi–Barwala section of NH-148B, which will be upgraded into a two/four-lane highway with paved shoulders. The project is expected to improve road safety, facilitate faster transportation of agricultural produce and freight, enhance regional connectivity, and create new employment opportunities.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 157.92-km Haryana section of the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway (NE-05). Once fully operational, the expressway is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Katra from around 14 hours to nearly 6 hours, while the journey between Delhi and Amritsar will be cut from about 8 hours to approximately 4 hours. The corridor is expected to significantly boost tourism, trade, logistics, and connectivity across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Additionally, the 40.6-km Jind–Gohana section of NH-352A was dedicated to the nation. The upgraded highway will reduce travel time between Jind and Gohana from nearly two hours to just 40 minutes, improving freight movement, facilitating trade, reducing fuel consumption, and lowering vehicular emissions.

The projects are part of the Government of India’s ongoing efforts to modernize the country’s road infrastructure, improve regional connectivity, and support long-term economic development through enhanced transportation networks.
