Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Maersk are expanding their Americas shipping service by adding a call at the Port of Suape in northeastern Brazil, strengthening maritime connectivity for cargo moving through the region.
The addition is expected to provide shippers with improved access to international container shipping networks and create further opportunities for Brazilian exporters and importers. Suape is an important port and industrial hub in Pernambuco state, serving regional manufacturing, agricultural and consumer-goods supply chains.
The updated rotation for the shared service is Veracruz – Altamira – Houston – Cartagena – Suape – Santos – Itapoá – Paranaguá – Itajaí – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Cartagena – Veracruz. Suape is positioned between Cartagena and Santos on the southbound leg.
The first call is scheduled for October 26, 2026, by MSC Yamuna VI on voyage 640S. The vessel is expected to arrive at Suape before continuing to Santos and other Brazilian ports.
