Wan Hai Lines has suspended cargo bookings for shipments destined for Afghanistan and Central Asian markets that are routed through Pakistani ports, according to the reported service restriction.

The move affects cargo moving through Pakistan as a transit gateway to landlocked markets, where importers and exporters rely on seaports and onward overland transport to move goods. The restriction could require shippers and freight forwarders to review existing arrangements and consider alternative routing options.

Afghanistan and several Central Asian countries depend on transit corridors through neighbouring countries to access international shipping networks. Any disruption to these routes can affect transit planning, cargo handling and delivery schedules.

The booking restriction may prompt logistics providers to assess alternative gateways and transport corridors, depending on cargo origin, destination and available services. Shippers should confirm booking acceptance, transit arrangements and applicable charges with their shipping lines and freight forwarders before dispatch.
