The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has called for greater collaboration between India and Taiwan to accelerate the development of India’s man-made fibre (MMF) ecosystem and enhance the country’s global competitiveness in textiles.

Speaking at the Textile Summit 2026, AEPC Chairman A. Sakthivel emphasized the need for strategic joint ventures and technology partnerships with Taiwanese firms. He noted that such collaborations would help strengthen India’s manufacturing capabilities, facilitate technology transfer, and support the modernization of the textile sector.

According to AEPC, partnerships with Taiwan could play a crucial role in advancing India’s MMF value chain by bringing in advanced technologies, innovation, and expertise. The council believes that closer cooperation between businesses from both countries would boost productivity, improve product quality, and enhance the competitiveness of Indian textile exports in global markets.

The call for collaboration comes as India seeks to expand its presence in the global MMF and technical textiles segments, which are increasingly driving growth in international apparel trade. AEPC said fostering international partnerships will be key to building a robust and future-ready textile manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
