Anglo-Eastern has expanded its managed fleet with the addition of two methanol-ready Suezmax tankers, GH Angelou and GH Christie, following a special dual naming ceremony held on 5 January at HD Hyundai Samho Shipyard.
The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Andreas Povlsen and Tala Povlsen, Kjetil Storebø of Hayfin Capital Management LLP, Nikos Benetis and Yusuf Doruk of Greenheart Management, as well as Anglo-Eastern CEO Bjørn Højgaard and his wife Brenda Hojgaard. Senior representatives from Anglo-Eastern Technical Services (AETS), including Debdutta Barman, Director, and Avra Paul, Deputy Fleet Manager, were also present.
The two Suezmax tankers were christened by Tala Povlsen and Brenda Hojgaard, respectively. Designed with a strong focus on efficiency and sustainability, both vessels are equipped with Hi-PSD (High-performance Pre-Swirl Duct) and Hi-Rudder (High-efficiency Rudder Bulb) technologies, enhancing propulsive efficiency and steering performance.
Anglo-Eastern Technical Services played a key role in the projects, contributing to specification reviews, plan approvals, and on-site supervision during construction.
Anglo-Eastern congratulated Greenheart Management, Hayfin Capital Management, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and AETS on the successful delivery of the vessels. GH Angelou will sail under the command of Captain Bharat Bhushan Gupta with Chief Engineer Shatanik Ghosh, while GH Christie will be led by Captain Biswadeep Bhattacharyya and Chief Engineer Himadri Biswas.
The company wished both vessels fair winds and smooth seas as they begin operations.
