Apple has exported $10 billion (₹88,700 crore) worth of iPhones from India in the first half of FY26, marking a 75% year-on-year surge, according to a report by The Economic Times.
In September 2025 alone, Apple shipped $1.25 billion worth of iPhones, a 155% jump compared to the same month last year, even as domestic demand for the new iPhone 17 series remained strong.
The export boom follows the commissioning of two new manufacturing facilities — Tata Electronics’ Hosur unit and Foxconn’s Bengaluru plant — taking Apple’s total number of factories in India to five. These units collectively produced $22 billion worth of iPhones in FY25, with 80% exported to global markets.
Significantly, India now manufactures all iPhone models, including the Pro and Pro Max variants, available at launch — a first in Apple’s global rollout strategy.
Overall smartphone exports from India surpassed ₹1 lakh crore in the first five months of FY26, driven largely by Apple’s expansion under the government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
Celebrating the milestone, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw posted on X, “Made in Bharat. Trusted globally.”
