Cathay Cargo has expanded its intermodal connectivity network in Hong Kong to improve the movement of temperature-sensitive perishables, reinforcing the city’s role as a major regional air cargo hub. The enhanced services are designed to provide faster and more reliable links between sea, road, and air transport channels.

The carrier said the upgraded connectivity will support exporters of fresh produce, seafood, flowers, and pharmaceuticals by reducing transit times and preserving product quality throughout the supply chain. Improved coordination between terminals and logistics partners is expected to streamline cargo transfers and minimize handling delays.

Hong Kong remains a critical gateway for high-value and time-sensitive shipments across Asia, and Cathay Cargo’s latest move aligns with growing demand for efficient cold-chain logistics. The expansion is also expected to strengthen trade flows between Greater China, Southeast Asia, and global markets.

Industry observers note that rising consumer demand for fresh imported goods and stricter quality standards are driving airlines and logistics providers to invest more heavily in integrated perishables solutions.
