Cochin Shipyard, India’s biggest shipbuilder by dock capacity and Marine Services company had signed a memorandum of understanding last October when Samia Suluhu Hassan, President, United Republic of Tanzania, visited India.

Tanzania’s Transport Minister Professor Mbarawa was accompanied by Dr Kheri Omari Goloka, Minister Counsellor, Tanzania High Commission, Eric Benedict Hamissi, Managing Director, Marine Services Company and team. The Cochin Shipyard team was led by Madhu Nair, Chairman and Managing Director and Sreejith Narayanan, Director (Operations), according to an official statement.

A senior management team from Cochin Shipyard also participated in the deliberations.
The visiting delegation from Tanzania was taken around the facilities for a better under-standing of the infrastructure and capabilities of the shipyard.

The visiting delegation is also expected to tour the newly opened International Ship Repair Facility at Willingdon Island.
