DHL has integrated around 8,000 robots across its global supply chain network, marking a significant step in its ongoing automation strategy aimed at improving operational efficiency, speed, and accuracy in warehouse operations.

The logistics major said the deployment spans multiple facilities worldwide and includes robotic systems used for sorting, picking, packing, and goods movement within warehouses. The company noted that automation is increasingly becoming a key driver in managing rising e-commerce volumes and tightening delivery timelines.

According to industry observers, the large-scale adoption of robotics is reshaping traditional warehouse roles, with a shift toward more technical and supervisory job functions as automated systems take over repetitive manual tasks.

DHL stated that the integration of robotics is designed to enhance productivity, reduce processing times, and improve safety conditions within its logistics operations. The company added that human workers will continue to play a critical role in managing and coordinating automated systems across its facilities.

Experts highlighted that global logistics providers are rapidly investing in robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital warehouse management systems to remain competitive in a fast-evolving supply chain landscape driven by automation and data-led decision-making.
