    Ahigh-level delegation led by the Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Amardeep Singh Bhatia, visited the K-tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence (CoE) for IoT & AI in Bengaluru.

    The visit aimed to engage with startups, explore the innovation ecosystem, and identify policy interventions to support deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship.

    Following the Bengaluru visit, Secretary Bhatia reviewed progress at the Tumakuru Industrial Area, a marquee project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). Phase A of the development, covering 1,736 acres, is underway, with internal roads, drainage, and utility infrastructure nearing completion.

    During a review with EPC contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and PMC HaskoningDHV, officials received detailed updates on project timelines and deliverables. L&T is committed to accelerating work to enable land allotment to industries by year-end.

    The Secretary emphasised timely execution, quality standards, and investment readiness to attract key sectors such as electronics, automotive, clean tech, and logistics.

    The CoE, India’s largest deep-tech innovation hub, connects startups, enterprises, academia, and government to harness technologies like IoT, AI, ML, Data Science, AR/VR, Robotics, and Big Data. The delegation interacted with founders and incubator leaders to explore tech-enabled solutions in manufacturing, logistics, and urban development.

    The delegation also toured Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Pvt Ltd, the Devanahalli Aerospace SEZ, and Dynamatic Technologies, gaining insights into India’s growing aerospace and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

    Secretary Bhatia called for greater synergy between policy, innovation, and infrastructure to propel India’s industrial growth and global competitiveness.

    He was accompanied by Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, senior DPIIT officials, and the Head of Startup India.
