EGYPTAIR is strengthening its cargo operations in Turkey and France, expanding dedicated freighter capacity and building on its growing presence in key European markets. The airline’s cargo expansion comes as demand for reliable airfreight connectivity between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East continues to grow.
In Turkey, EGYPTAIR has expanded its operations over the past decade through its partnership with Globe Air Cargo Turkey. The carrier has evolved from relying primarily on belly-hold capacity to becoming one of the top 10 cargo carriers serving the Turkish market.
A major development has been the introduction of two weekly Airbus A330 freighter flights between Turkey and Egypt. The dedicated freighter capacity gives EGYPTAIR greater flexibility to handle larger volumes of cargo and strengthens connections between Turkish exporters and the airline’s wider network.
The expansion is also being supported by EGYPTAIR’s commercial partnerships. ECS Group said the carrier’s progress in Turkey and France demonstrates the value of combining local market expertise, digital solutions and specialised cargo sales support to drive growth.
EGYPTAIR’s broader cargo strategy is aimed at increasing its share of international freight markets while making better use of both dedicated freighters and passenger aircraft belly capacity. The airline’s current cargo fleet includes Airbus A330 freighters, alongside cargo capacity on other aircraft types.
The stronger presence in Turkey and France is expected to improve access to EGYPTAIR’s network for freight forwarders and shippers, particularly for trade flows linking Europe with Egypt and other markets across Africa and the Middle East.
The expansion highlights EGYPTAIR’s continued push to develop its cargo business and strengthen Cairo’s role as a connecting point for international airfreight flows.
