Emirates Shipping Line has announced plans to double the sailing frequency of its Sun Chief Express (SCX) transpacific container service, enhancing connectivity between Southeast Asia and the U.S. West Coast.

Under the planned upgrade, the SCX service — operated in partnership with logistics provider UWL — will shift from a **fortnightly rotation to a weekly schedule starting June 2026. To support the increased frequency, Emirates Shipping will deploy three additional vessels on the route, providing greater capacity and more reliable weekly departures.

The core service itinerary is expected to remain unchanged, connecting Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with Shenzhen (Shekou, China) and Seattle (U.S.), before returning to Hai Phong. Emirates Shipping’s move reflects growing demand on the transpacific corridor and underscores its commitment to improving schedule reliability and service responsiveness for shippers.

Shippers are encouraged to consult with their local Emirates Shipping or UWL representatives to understand the timetable, booking availability, and operational implications of the enhanced weekly SCX service ahead of implementation.
