Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon to deepen industry–academia collaboration in India’s logistics and transportation sector.

The partnership aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, joint curriculum development and collaborative research, supporting the rapid evolution of India’s logistics ecosystem. A highlight of the agreement is the creation of an Amazon Chair Professorship at GSV, dedicated to advancing research in warehousing and data-driven decision-making models for supply chain optimisation.

The initiative is expected to drive innovation in logistics operations, improve efficiency across networks and bolster India’s position in technology-enabled logistics management.

GSV Vice Chancellor Prof Manoj Choudhary said the university—India’s only institution dedicated exclusively to transportation and logistics—remains committed to building specialised talent and research capabilities. He added that Amazon India’s expertise would significantly enhance planning, design and innovation through co-development projects.

Established in 2022 as a Central University under the Ministry of Railways, GSV covers all major modes of transport, including railways, highways, ports, aviation, maritime, inland waterways and urban transit, along with the broader supply chain and logistics systems.
