India has exported electronics components worth approximately ₹35,000 crore to China, highlighting the country’s growing role in the global electronics manufacturing ecosystem and strengthening its position in international supply chains.
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said the significant export figure demonstrates the rapid development of India’s electronics manufacturing sector and its increasing capability to produce high-quality components for global markets. The exports include a range of components used in consumer electronics, telecommunications equipment, and other advanced technology products.
The milestone comes as India continues to expand its domestic electronics production under various government initiatives aimed at boosting manufacturing, attracting investments, and enhancing export competitiveness. Industry experts note that the growth in component exports reflects the maturation of India’s electronics supply chain, which is gradually moving beyond final product assembly to higher-value component manufacturing.
India has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing electronics manufacturing hubs, supported by production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes, infrastructure development, and rising investments from global technology companies. The country’s electronics exports have witnessed substantial growth over the past few years, driven largely by smartphones, semiconductor-related products, and electronic components.
The export of electronics components to China is particularly notable given China’s status as one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturing centers. The development indicates increasing integration between regional supply chains and highlights the competitiveness of Indian-made components in international markets.
Government officials believe continued investment in semiconductor manufacturing, component ecosystems, and research and development will further enhance India’s export capabilities and support the country’s ambition of becoming a global electronics production powerhouse. Industry stakeholders expect electronics exports to maintain strong growth momentum as new manufacturing facilities become operational and global companies diversify their supply chains.
