The Kerala Maritime Board (KMB) has invited bids from eligible firms for leasing a strategically located godown facility at Kovalam–Vizhinjam Port, offering businesses a unique opportunity to establish operations in the immediate vicinity of the rapidly emerging Vizhinjam International Seaport.
Positioned as a high-potential commercial and investment destination, the facility is expected to attract logistics operators, warehousing companies, exporters, importers and allied industries seeking to leverage Vizhinjam’s growing role as a global transshipment hub.
According to the tender notice, the pre-bid meeting will be held on June 24, 2026, at 11:30 AM, while the last date for submission of bids is July 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
The site offers several strategic advantages, including proximity to Vizhinjam International Seaport, customs-notified non-major port status with ISPS Level-1 compliance, and seamless connectivity to road, rail and air transport networks.
In addition to the warehouse infrastructure, lessees will have access to key port assets and facilities, including a tug boat, crane, 60-tonne weighbridge and an 85-metre wharf, subject to applicable port charges.
With Vizhinjam emerging as a major maritime gateway on India’s southern coast, the leasing opportunity is expected to generate significant interest from businesses looking to strengthen their supply chain, logistics and cargo handling capabilities in the region.
