Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd (KMEW) has secured a second work order from the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) for the deployment of a River Sea Vessel (RSV) Type IV security patrol boat for a five-year period. The contract, valued at ₹10.66 crore including GST, reinforces the company’s growing footprint in maritime security operations.

This latest award follows an earlier ₹9.69 crore contract received in August 2024 for a similar RSV Type IV patrol boat. Under the new agreement, KMEW will supply and operate one patrol vessel dedicated to safeguarding port waters, enhancing surveillance, and supporting the safety of vessels, personnel, and critical port infrastructure.

KMEW will undertake in-house construction of the patrol boat to meet NMPA’s technical requirements and ensure timely deployment.

Commenting on the development, Sujay Kewalramani, CEO of KMEW, said, “By delivering a diverse portfolio of solutions across key ports, we continue to distinguish ourselves from competitors and set new benchmarks in reliability and execution.”

KMEW currently provides patrol boat services to five of India’s 12 major ports. The company said its expanding presence positions it to effectively meet operational needs as maritime activity grows across the country’s port network.
