Mahindra Logistics Ltd (MLL) has announced a major expansion of its warehousing network in Northeast India, adding over 4 lakh sq ft of capacity across Guwahati and Agartala as part of its ongoing “Go-East” strategy. The move aims to strengthen logistics connectivity and support industrial growth across the eastern corridor.
The new Guwahati facility, spanning 3 lakh sq ft, is now the largest Grade-A multi-client warehouse in the region. It houses Northeast India’s first Community Centre of Excellence, established in collaboration with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The centre will offer skill training aligned with industry standards to enhance employability and workforce development in the logistics sector.
The 1.3 lakh sq ft Agartala warehouse, strategically located to serve key consumption and production hubs across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur, also strengthens connectivity with Bangladesh, promoting cross-border trade and regional integration.
“These facilities underscore our commitment to redefining the logistics landscape in Eastern India,” said Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Logistics. “They not only expand our distribution network but also act as gateways to the Northeast, enabling businesses to reach previously underserved markets.”
As part of its “Go-East” initiative, Mahindra Logistics has already developed 1 million sq ft of multi-client warehousing space across Eastern and Northeastern India. The company also plans to extend its express logistics services to over 800 pin codes, improving accessibility and supply chain efficiency across the region.
The expansion is expected to generate over 2,000 jobs, with a focus on ensuring 50% workforce diversity through recruitment from local communities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable regional growth.
