    A high-level delegation from Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd., Japan, accompanied by representatives from TGE Marine, visited the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Mumbai, for a strategic interaction aimed at strengthening maritime industry collaboration between India and Japan.

    The meeting was chaired by Shri Pradeep Sudhakar, Chief Ship Surveyor, and attended by senior officials including Shri Nebu Oommen, Shri Satish Kamath, Shri Ravi Kumar Moka, Shri Nikhil Kumar, Shri Ankur Anal, along with members from SEEED and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).

    The visiting delegation comprised senior leadership from Mitsui E&S and TGE Marine, who presented insights into cutting-edge technologies, modern marine systems, and evolving global market trends in shipbuilding and propulsion. The discussions focused on emerging opportunities in LNG and alternative fuel systems, advanced propulsion technologies, and next-generation maritime equipment designed to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

    Officials from DG Shipping briefed the delegation on India’s ongoing maritime transformation initiatives under the Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047. Key areas highlighted included the development of green shipping corridors, promotion of alternative fuels, shipbuilding expansion, capacity augmentation, regulatory reforms, and efforts to position India as a global maritime hub.

    The interaction provided a valuable platform to explore avenues for technology collaboration, skill development, innovation exchange, and investment in India’s growing maritime ecosystem. Both sides expressed interest in fostering deeper cooperation to support sustainable growth, decarbonization goals, and modernization of the shipping and shipbuilding sectors.

    The meeting marks another step forward in strengthening Indo-Japanese maritime ties and underscores India’s commitment to adopting advanced global technologies to drive its maritime ambitions.
