Ariana Afghan Airlines has received a new cargo aircraft in Kabul, a move expected to strengthen the country’s air freight capacity and support trade and export growth.

Officials said the arrival of the cargo plane will help improve the transportation of Afghan goods—such as fresh and dried fruits, saffron, carpets and handicrafts—to regional and international markets. Dedicated cargo capacity is seen as critical for reducing transit times and logistics costs for exporters.

The aircraft is expected to operate on key regional routes, linking Kabul with major trade hubs in the Middle East and South Asia. Authorities believe this will provide Afghan traders with more reliable export options, particularly for perishable and high-value products.

The development comes as Afghanistan seeks to revive external trade through air corridors and expand non-traditional exports, with aviation playing a central role in reconnecting the country to global supply chains.
