The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced that Emirates Line and Wan Hai have added the new shipping service “IM2” to Jeddah Islamic Port.

The new service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with three regional and global ports: Mundra  in India, Alexandria in Egypt, and Mersin in Turkey, with a total handling capacity of 2,800 TEUs.

Jeddah Islamic Port features 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services park for  warehousing and re-export, and a direct truck transport system to and from the port.

It also houses several specialised terminals and facilities, including two container terminals  with a combined handling capacity of 7.5 million TEUs, two general cargo terminals, two  dry docks for ship repair and maintenance, and a range of marine service berths. The port’s total capacity reaches 130 million tonnes.

Earlier this month, Mawani announced that Sea Lead has added the new shipping service, 5CX, to Jeddah Islamic Port.
