Pilbara Ports recorded a record throughput of 55.9 million tonnes in February 2026, marking the continuation of a strong performance for the port network.

The increase was driven primarily by high iron ore exports from Port Hedland and Dampier Port, reflecting robust demand from key Asian markets. Operational improvements and efficient cargo handling contributed to the port achieving its best-ever monthly volume.

Pilbara Ports Authority highlighted that this milestone reinforces the region’s role as a critical hub for Australia’s bulk exports and demonstrates the effectiveness of recent infrastructure investments and scheduling enhancements.

Industry analysts note that the strong throughput signals continued growth in the Pilbara iron ore sector, although maintaining operational efficiency will be crucial as volumes remain at historically high levels.
