The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and Africa Global Logistics (AGL) have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the construction of new berths at the planned Bagamoyo Port. The agreement outlines cooperation on design, financing, and development of the port’s initial terminal infrastructure, aimed at transforming Bagamoyo into one of East Africa’s largest maritime hubs.

According to officials, the project will boost Tanzania’s cargo-handling capacity, support regional trade, and attract new investment into the country’s logistics sector. The MoU marks a major step forward in reviving the long-delayed Bagamoyo Port development.
